Knee Orthotic Services
We offer a range of orthotic solutions that can help support and stabilize your knee joint, making everyday movements like walking, climbing stairs, and bending feel more manageable. Many patients find that the right brace can improve comfort and provide added confidence in daily activities. Finding the right fit, support, and comfort that fits within your lifestyle is important. A well-fitted knee brace is designed to reduce strain, improve stability, and support your mobility goals. Our care teams will work with you to understand your symptoms and lifestyle, then recommend an option that’s appropriate for your needs.
Knee Pain
What Causes Knee Pain?
Degenerative Conditions
These include issues like osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis, where the cartilage in your knee wears down over time. This can cause pain, stiffness, and reduced mobility.
Injuries and Trauma
Sudden injuries such as ligament tears (ACL, MCL), meniscus damage, or fractures can lead to knee pain and instability. These often occur during sports, accidents, or falls.
Overuse and Mechanical Issues
Conditions like tendonitis, bursitis, or misalignment develop from repetitive stress or improper joint mechanics. They can cause swelling, discomfort, and difficulty with movement.
Neurological or Post-Surgical Issues
Knee pain can also result from neurological conditions like stroke (CVA) that affect muscle control, or during recovery from surgery such as knee replacement or ligament reconstruction.

Knee-Ankle-Foot Orthosis (KAFO)
Each KAFO is custom-made for the individual, with the goal of improving stability and alignment and, in some cases, limiting certain movements for safety.KAFOs can be worn on one or both legs and may include additional hip control when necessary. They are often recommended for complex neurological conditions—such as spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, or certain pediatric neurological disorders—as well as other chronic conditions that make standing and walking without support challenging. One of the advantages of KAFOs is the wide range of joint control options available for both the knee and ankle. These can include settings for free motion, locked positions, or variable resistance, allowing your care team to select the level of control that best supports your mobility and safety goals. Our care specialists will work closely with you to understand your needs and goals, then design a KAFO that fits comfortably and supports your mobility as much as possible. While outcomes vary, many patients find that the right KAFO can make daily activities safer and more manageable.
